Trump account calculator
The short answer: a Trump account is a traditional IRA for a child, seeded with $1,000 by the Treasury for children born 2025 through 2028, with up to $5,000 a year of contributions invested in low-cost index funds until at least age 18. This tool shows what the seed, your contributions and compounding actually add up to.
The rules that matter: contributions became possible on July 4, 2026; money is locked until 18 and then ordinary traditional-IRA rules apply, which means growth is tax-deferred and withdrawals are taxed as income (with the usual early-withdrawal rules). The account must hold low-cost index funds with expenses under 0.10%, which quietly protects children from being sold expensive products. And the pilot $1,000 requires a Social Security number and an election with your tax return: free money with a form attached.
The curve, the value at 18 and 30, saved.
