The Stocks the Most Hedge Funds Own in 2026
Take every 13F we hold, at each fund's own most recent filing, and count how many separate funds report each stock. The result is the closest thing the filings offer to a consensus, and it is a more interesting number than any single manager's opinion.
Figures below are for Q2 2026, common stock only.

Why "common stock only" matters more than it sounds
A 13F reports options as well as shares, and it reports them at the notional value of the underlying, never the premium paid. A fund holding puts on \$20bn of an index files a \$20bn line, which will outrank almost every genuine shareholding on the page.
Counting those as ownership produces two specific lies. It says a fund's largest position is a stock it is actually betting against, and it double-counts a name that appears once as a put and once as a call. Every figure above excludes them.
What consensus is worth
Two honest readings, and they point in opposite directions:
- Confirmation. Independent professionals, with research budgets and access most readers do not have, arrived at the same name. That is not nothing.
- Crowding. A stock held by everyone has nobody left to buy it, and a crowded exit is how a good business becomes a bad quarter.
The number is a fact. Which of those two it means is a judgement, and it depends entirely on why they are there, which a filing does not record.
One more caution: several of the biggest holders in a table like this are quantitative or index-tracking managers, whose presence in a name is a function of its market capitalisation and not an opinion about it. A large-cap technology stock will look beloved by construction.
