Not financial advice

Last updated 2026-07-19

This page exists so there is never any doubt about what SteadyShares is. It is a research and education tool. It is not advice, and no page on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.

What we are, and are not

SteadyShares computes ratings, moat scores and fair value estimates from public filings and market data, and explains how. We are not a broker, an investment adviser, or a fiduciary, and we are not authorised or regulated by the FCA, the SEC, or anyone else, because we do not give advice. Nothing here takes your circumstances into account. If you want advice, speak to a qualified adviser who knows your situation.

Capital at risk

Shares go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you put in. Currency moves can add losses on top for UK investors holding US shares. Nothing on this site changes any of that, and no score, screen, or pick is a promise that a price will rise.

Past performance

Past performance is not a guide to future returns. A fund's 13F record, a politician's disclosed trades, and a company's ten-year run of high returns all describe the past. The future is under no obligation to repeat it.

Models are estimates

Every number we compute is an estimate built on assumptions, and the methodology page and the AI picks methodology spell out where each one is weakest. Data arrives from third parties late and with mistakes; a 13F can already be 45 days old the day it is filed. Treat every figure as an input to your own thinking, not a verdict.

Do your own research

Read the filings. Check the numbers against the source. Decide for yourself, ideally with professional advice. If a decision would hurt if it went wrong, do not make it on the strength of a screen result or a score from us or anyone else.
