The lonely bets: big positions nobody else holds

Which billion-dollar positions are held by exactly one fund in our set?

What we found

Crowding is the norm: the popular names are held by dozens of funds at once. The interesting exception is the manager with a billion dollars in something no other fund in our set touches, which is either genuine independent thinking or a very lonely mistake.

We could not reach the database to compute this study just now. The figures below are therefore missing, rather than zero. We would rather show you an honest gap than a confident blank.

How we computed it
  • Positions over $1bn held by exactly one of our 105 funds in Q1 2026.
What this CANNOT tell you
  • 'Nobody else holds it' means nobody else in OUR 105 funds. The wider market may own it enthusiastically. This is a statement about our sample, not about the world.
  • Some of these are structural: a holding company reporting a stake in itself is not a contrarian bet, it is an accounting fact.
