What the big funds started buying
Which companies did the most funds open a brand new position in?
A brand new position means a manager formed a fresh conviction and had to put real money behind it. These are the companies the most funds opened at once last quarter, which is the closest a 13F ever gets to a signal.
We could not reach the database to compute this study just now. The figures below are therefore missing, rather than zero. We would rather show you an honest gap than a confident blank.
- Companies where a fund held nothing in Q4 2025 and something in Q1 2026, counted across all 105 funds.
- Only companies opened by at least 2 funds are shown.
- A 'new' position can be an artefact: a ticker change, a spin-off landing in the book, or an index fund tracking an index addition. Check the company before reading intent into it.
- By the time a 13F is public the position is up to 45 days old, and the manager may already have sold it.
