Canterbury Park Holding Corporation trades at USD15.55, close to the USD16.31 our discounted cash flow model puts on the business. On this measure the market and the model broadly agree, so the interesting question is which of them is wrong.

Our moat model scores it 24 out of 100, which is little in the way of a moat. A moat is a structural reason competitors cannot take the profits away, and it matters more to a long holding period than any single quarter's numbers do.

Common questions

Is Canterbury Park Holding Corporation (CPHC) undervalued?

Against our discounted cash flow estimate of USD16.31, CPHC at USD15.55 is 5% below fair value. That is one model's answer, not a recommendation, and most of a DCF's output sits in a terminal value nobody can forecast.

Does Canterbury Park Holding Corporation (CPHC) pay a dividend?

Yes. Canterbury Park Holding Corporation yields 1.77% at the current share price. It has paid USD0.280 per share over the trailing twelve months. It has paid a dividend in each of the last 4 complete calendar years. A dividend is declared by the board and can be cut at any time; a yield is a fact about the current price, not a promise.
