Valuation and ratings
PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust trades at USD22.40, which is 32% above the USD15.20 our discounted cash flow model puts on the business. On that measure it screens as expensive, which is not the same as saying it will fall.
Our moat model scores it 48 out of 100, which is a moat, but not a deep one. A moat is a structural reason competitors cannot take the profits away, and it matters more to a long holding period than any single quarter's numbers do.

Common questions
Is PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (PMT-PB) undervalued?
Against our discounted cash flow estimate of USD15.20, PMT-PB at USD22.40 is 32% above fair value. That is one model's answer, not a recommendation, and most of a DCF's output sits in a terminal value nobody can forecast.
Does PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (PMT-PB) pay a dividend?
Yes. PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust yields 8.97% at the current share price. It has paid USD2.00 per share over the trailing twelve months. It has paid a dividend in each of the last 9 complete calendar years. A dividend is declared by the board and can be cut at any time; a yield is a fact about the current price, not a promise.
